Strawberry Topping

Fresh strawberry topping is a delightful and versatile addition that brings a burst of vibrant color and sweet, juicy flavor to a wide range of desserts and breakfast items. Ingredient

• 16 OZ. FRESH RIPE STRAWBERRIES
  
• 3/4 CUP SUGAR PIE PLATE OR SHALLOW DISH MICROWAVABLE BOWL
  
• TBSP. STRAWBERRY GELATIN

1. Rinse Strawberries well under cold water. Remove stems. Slice strawberries into a medium size microwavable bowl.
   
2. Add sugar on top of sliced berries. Place in microwave and cook on high for 3 minutes. Remove and mash strawberries so the juices combine in the sugar well.
   
3. Add gelatin if desired. Mix well. Pour strawberries into a shallow pie plate or pan and place in the freezer until cool (don’t freeze).
   
4. Refrigerate topping in an airtight container or use in a dessert once cold. This topping freezes well, so buy strawberries while in season and freeze topping for quick desserts in the fall and winter.
